Kailash Mansarovar Yatra – Itinerary Overview
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra itinerary is carefully crafted to offer a spiritually enriching and comfortable journey. Beginning in Kathmandu, the route unfolds through scenic mountain valleys and gradually increasing altitudes, ensuring the body adjusts gently to the high Himalayan environment.
Pilgrims then travel toward the Tibet border and onward to the sacred Lake Mansarovar, where holy rituals and serene moments of reflection take place. The journey continues to Darchen, the gateway to the revered Kailash Parikrama, bringing devotees closer to the divine aura of Mount Kailash. Each day reveals new landscapes, cultural insights, and profound spiritual experiences, making the yatra a well-paced and deeply transformative pilgrimage for every traveler.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and settle in after your journey. In the evening, attend a Yatra briefing session where our tour leader will explain the itinerary, health guidelines, altitude precautions, and essential preparations for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa for darshan and blessings. Return to the hotel for Yatra briefing and document check in the afternoon. Prepare for the upcoming journey.

After breakfast, drive towards Syabrubesi through scenic mountain roads and river valleys (approx. 6–7 hours). On arrival, check-in at the guesthouse and rest for acclimatization.

After breakfast, proceed to the Nepal–Tibet border and complete immigration formalities. Then continue driving to Kyirong in Tibet. Check in, rest, and acclimatize to the higher altitude.

Spend the day in Kyirong to rest and help your body adjust to the increasing altitude. Take light walks, stay hydrated, and avoid exertion to prepare for the upcoming higher regions.

After breakfast, drive from Kyirong to Saga, passing through stunning Himalayan landscapes and river valleys. Arrive in Saga and rest to further acclimatize to the high altitude.

Drive from Saga to the sacred Lake Mansarovar, enjoying breathtaking views of the Tibetan plateau. On arrival, witness the serene holy lake and spend time in prayer and reflection.

In the morning, perform Mansarovar Parikrama by vehicle and, if desired, take a holy dip and participate in puja by the lakeside. Later, continue the journey to Darchen, the base camp for the Kailash Parikrama. Rest and prepare for the trek ahead.

After breakfast, drive to Yamdwar, the starting point of the Kailash Parikrama. Begin the trek to Diraphuk (approx. 12 km). Enjoy your first close views of Mount Kailash throughout the walk. Reach Diraphuk and rest overnight.

This is the most challenging day of the Yatra. Early morning, begin the trek to Dolma La Pass (5630m), the highest point of the Kailash Parikrama. After crossing the pass, descend towards Gauri Kund and continue trekking to Zutulphuk. Rest overnight.

Stay: Zutulphuk
After breakfast, finish the final short stretch of the Kailash Parikrama by trekking back to the road point (approx. 8 km). Rejoin the group and drive back to Saga. Check-in and rest after the spiritual and physical journey.

After breakfast, drive from Saga to Kyirong and complete border formalities. Then continue the journey back to Kathmandu by road. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and relax after the long travel.
